Comicpix vs ComicMe: which photo-to-comic maker fits?
Both turn a photo into a comic starring a real person: ComicMe, by Picsart, fits a bigger cast, fairy tales and story videos, and Comicpix fits one comic drawn in the style you pick, manhwa and manhua included, with the cover shown before you pay. Comicpix makes this page and is one of the tools compared.

Two tools for the same job
ComicMe and Comicpix are closer to each other than most AI comic tools. Neither is a panel editor: you upload a photo, choose a style and a story, and get back a comic in which that person is the main character. ComicMe describes itself as a Picsart AI experience for personalized comic-style stories from photos; Comicpix is an independent maker that does only this.
The differences are in the details: how many people fit in the story, which art styles you can choose, what formats you get, how you pay and what happens to your photos. Every ComicMe fact below comes from comicme.ai, its App Store listing or Picsart’s own pages, linked under the table and checked on 26 October 2026. We did not buy credits or make a ComicMe comic, so we describe what Picsart states, not its output.
Comicpix and ComicMe side by side
From each company’s own pages. No ratings and no winner: the last row says when each fits best.
| Comicpix | ComicMe (Picsart) | |
|---|---|---|
| What you get | A comic with your hero on every page: read online or download a PDF. Digital only, nothing printed | Multi-page comic books, fairy tales and story videos; read as a flip book, download a PDF or a set of images for printing. The iPhone app also exports shareable links and QR codes |
| Who can be in it | Your hero and an optional second character, each from one photo of a person or a pet, or a ready-made character | A protagonist (“add up to 3 more”) and an optional nemesis; photos of yourself, friends, family or pets |
| Styles and story | Manga, anime, manhwa, manhua, comic, superhero, cartoon, fantasy, sci-fi, noir, romance or cyberpunk, one per comic; a ready story or a few sentences | Styles such as Golden Age, Noir, Halftone, Manga, Funny Pages and Ligne Claire; you pick genre, tone, premise and language (“over 16 languages”) |
| Pricing | The cover preview is free; monthly plans from $6.99, cancel online | No prices on comicme.ai; credits belong to your Picsart account and work in its other apps. iPhone app: weekly $14.99, monthly $57.00, credit packs from $6.99 |
| Where it runs | Web, plus iPhone and Android apps; the iPhone app uses the same account as the web | Web, an app for iPhone, iPad and Apple-silicon Macs, and a Windows app. Android: not stated on their site |
| Your photos | Private; deleted after 7 days (after 30 days if you unlock the comic) | Picsart’s privacy policy: “We retain your information until you delete your account”; no separate period for photos stated |
| Fits best when | You want one comic about one or two people (or a pet) in a style like manhwa, manhua or noir, and to see the cover first | You want a bigger cast or a villain, a fairy tale or a story video, a Windows app, or you already use Picsart credits |
Where ComicMe is stronger
A bigger cast. ComicMe’s form asks for a protagonist and lets you add up to three more people, plus an optional nemesis from a second photo. A Comicpix comic stars your hero and, if you like, one second character.
More formats. Besides comic books, ComicMe makes fairy tales and short story videos, reads as a flip book and exports images for printing; its iPhone app adds shareable links and QR codes. Comicpix makes one thing, a comic you read online or as a PDF.
More places to use it. ComicMe has a Windows app and an app for iPhone, iPad and Apple-silicon Macs, its site says it works in over 16 languages, and its credits belong to your Picsart account, so they also work in Picsart’s other AI apps.
Where Comicpix fits better
Styles from Asian comics. Comicpix draws manhwa, the full-color Korean style, and manhua, the Chinese style, as well as manga and anime. In the style lists on comicme.ai we did not see manhwa or manhua. For the look, see photo to manhwa or make a manga of yourself.
A cover before any payment, and a simple monthly plan. You see your own drawn cover, in about a minute, before you pay; a monthly plan then unlocks the whole comic, and you can cancel online. ComicMe uses Picsart credits instead, which suits you if you already have them.
A stated deletion window. Comicpix deletes your photos after 7 days (after 30 days if you unlock the comic). Picsart’s privacy policy ties retention to your account. If someone would rather not share a photo at all, Comicpix offers ready-made characters, AI-generated sample people; we didn’t find that option stated on comicme.ai.

Comicpix vs ComicMe: questions
What is the difference between Comicpix and ComicMe?
Both make a comic from a photo of a real person. ComicMe, by Picsart, takes a bigger cast, adds an optional nemesis and also makes fairy tales and story videos. Comicpix makes one comic in the style you choose, manhwa and manhua included, and shows your cover before you pay.
Is ComicMe part of Picsart?
Yes. ComicMe’s own FAQ calls it a platform and app created by Picsart, and its credits belong to your Picsart account. Comicpix is a separate company’s product, unrelated to Picsart.
Can I put my whole family in one comic?
ComicMe’s form takes a protagonist and up to three more people. A Comicpix comic stars your hero and an optional second character, so for a larger family ComicMe fits better.
Can my pet be the hero?
On Comicpix, yes: one photo of your dog or cat is enough, as in “The Sock Bandit”. ComicMe’s site also invites photos of pets. More on photo to comic.
Which one shows me a preview before paying?
On Comicpix the cover preview is free and drawn from your own photo and story in about a minute. ComicMe’s site lists no prices and uses Picsart credits; check comicme.ai for how its credits work.
Are there other tools like these?
Yes. AI comic makers compared puts six tools side by side, including studios where you edit panels yourself, and Comicpix vs LlamaGen covers the best-known studio.
