Can we get a comic book about the two of us?

Yes. A Comicpix couples comic stars both of you: one photo of each of you, your names and your story become a 12-page comic in one of 12 styles.

Comicpix shows you the drawn cover first, free, in about a minute; if you like it, a monthly plan unlocks the full comic to read online or download as a PDF, which makes it work as a surprise anniversary gift or a “just because” present.

This page is for a comic about a couple. For a comic where only one of you is the hero, see the personalized comic book for boyfriend page; for other people in your life, start from the personalized comic book hub.

From two photos to the cover of “How We Met”

A ready-made sample couple, not customers: their two photos became the cover of “How We Met”, drawn in the romance style. Your cover is drawn from your photos the same way.

These are our ready-made characters — AI-generated people, not customers. Your comic is drawn from your own photo.

Anniversary comic: from the day you met to today

An anniversary comic retells your relationship in order, from the first meeting to today. The ready story “How We Met” does it in six beats across 12 pages, and the same six beats work for your own story: write one or two sentences for each and Comicpix uses them as the script.

If you’d rather not retell the whole relationship, the “How We Met” template also offers “Our wedding” (your wedding day told like the greatest romance ever written), “The proposal” (a secret proposal with help from the whole city) and “Anniversary” (a surprise trip back to the place where it all began). You reach those starters by opening “How We Met” below and making it yours.

The six beats of an anniversary comic

  1. The meeting

Where you first collided. In “How We Met”: a bookstore café, and one of them spills coffee on the book in the other’s hands.

  2. The first line

What one of you said that stuck. In the sample: “You owe me a book. And a coffee.”

  3. The first date

The place and the weather. In the sample: a rooftop at sunset, two coffees and a new copy of the book.

  4. The years in between

Walks home, rainy Sundays, inside jokes: the small moments that fill the middle pages.

  5. The big moment

The proposal, the move, the wedding. In the sample: back in the same bookstore, a ring hidden inside a book.

  6. Today

The two of you now, with one object from page one still around. In the sample: years later, on the sofa at home, the old stained book on the coffee table.

How we met, as a comic

A “how we met” comic is the story of the two of you told from the first look to today, in your own words. Start with the place, who spoke first and the detail you still tease each other about; end with the two of you now.

There are two ways to make it. Write it as a few sentences in the Story step of your own comic, or open “How We Met” below and make it yours: that button starts the same bookstore-café story with your two photos and your names, and you can change what’s wrong before the cover is drawn. One photo of each of you is all Comicpix needs to draw you both; to see how a photo turns into a drawn page first, read photo to comic.

More anniversary ideas from the same template: send your partner on a scavenger hunt through every place you ever loved; wake up back on your first date and do it all again; a love letter for every year you’ve been together, each one coming to life; a road trip that goes wrong in the best way on the way to your honeymoon.

Which style for a couple?

Any of the 12 styles works for a couples comic, and one style is used for the whole comic. The couples examples on this site are drawn in romance (“How We Met”), anime (“The Umbrella Swap”, “Seaside Whispers”), manhwa (“Let It Rain”, “Moonlit Ascension”) and comic (“City Serenade”).

If you both read manhwa, see how a couple looks in that style on the photo to manhwa page; for an anime comic of yourself and your partner, “The Umbrella Swap” is the sample to open first.

A Valentine’s comic

A Valentine’s Day comic is the same couples comic with a Valentine’s story: your first date retold, or one of you planning a surprise across the whole city while everything goes beautifully wrong. The cover preview is free, so you can check the look before the day.

Questions couples ask

Can we both be in the comic?

Yes. A comic can star two characters: your hero and an optional second character, each from one photo of a person or pet, or a ready-made character. In a couples comic that’s one of you as the hero and your partner as the second character.

Do we need a photo of each of us?

Yes, one photo of each of you. The Cast step’s photo tips say one person or pet in the photo, so use a separate picture of each partner rather than one shot of you both. If your partner would rather not upload a photo, a ready-made character can take their place.

Will it look like us?

Every style is an illustration: you’ll be drawn in the style you pick, not photographed. The cover preview is free, so you see how the two of you look before you pay.

Can I make it for our wedding anniversary?

Yes. “Our wedding”, “The proposal” and “Anniversary” are ready story starters when you open “How We Met” and make it yours, and you can tell your wedding day in your own words instead. The comic is digital, so there’s no shipping date to plan around; the cover preview takes about a minute.

Can I write how we met in my own words?

Yes. A few sentences are enough: where you met, who spoke first, the first date, today. You don’t need to draw or write dialogue.

Is it a good surprise gift?

The cover preview is free and you see it before you pay, so you can check the look first. The finished comic sits in your library to read online or download as a PDF, so you decide when and how to share it.

Is it free?

The cover preview is free; the full 12-page comic needs a monthly plan, and you can cancel online.

How long does it take?

The cover takes about a minute. After you unlock the comic, the 12 pages are drawn one by one and you can read them as they arrive.
