Which comic styles does Comicpix draw?
Comicpix has 12 illustration styles: manga, anime, manhwa, manhua, comic, superhero, cartoon, fantasy, sci-fi, noir, romance and cyberpunk. You choose one style in the Style step, and it sets the look of every page from the cover to page 12; styles are not mixed inside one comic. Every style is an illustration, and the cover preview is free, so you see your own face in the style before you pay.
How to choose a style
Start with color. Manga and noir are drawn in black and white (noir with muted sepia accents); the other ten styles are in color. Then match the story: a romance for two reads differently in the soft manhwa look than in bold comic book outlines, and an action story lands harder in manga or superhero art. If the comic is a gift, the personalized comic book page sorts the examples by who it is for; the full photo-to-cover flow is on the photo to comic page.
Which styles have an example on this site
Seven styles have a real Comicpix example on this page: manhwa, anime, manga, noir, romance, manhua and comic. Five do not yet: superhero, cartoon, fantasy, sci-fi and cyberpunk. Their cards below show the style description only, so you know what the style aims for before you try it.

Questions about the styles
What’s the difference between the manga, manhwa and anime styles in Comicpix?
Manga is black and white with screentone shading; manhwa is full color with soft gradients and glossy lighting; anime is full color with cel shading, luminous color and expressive eyes. All three tell the same kind of 12-page story; only the drawing changes. Each has its own page with examples, linked from its card above.
Can I mix styles in one comic?
No. You pick one style in the Style step and it sets the look of every page, from the cover to page 12. To compare two styles, start a second comic in the other style and look at both covers.
Is there a vertical webtoon format?
No. On the web, every Comicpix comic is 12 portrait pages that you read one page at a time, online or as a PDF; there is no vertical-scroll webtoon format. The manhwa style gives you the full-color manhwa look in page form.
Can a style look like a real photo?
No. Every Comicpix style is an illustration, so the comic shows a drawn version of you, not a photo-like copy. The cover preview is free, so you can judge the likeness in the style you picked before you pay.
Which style is best for a gift?
Pick the style the person reads or watches. For a couple, look at the romance and manhwa examples, which are all love stories for two, and at the anime examples “The Umbrella Swap” and “Seaside Whispers”; for someone who reads comics, the noir example stars a single lead and the comic book examples range from an action comedy to a love story. The personalized comic book page groups the examples by who the gift is for, and the personalized comic book for couples page covers anniversary and how-we-met stories.
Can I see a style with my own face before I choose a plan?
Yes. Add a photo and a name, pick the style, and Comicpix draws your cover in about a minute; the cover preview is free. The full 12-page comic needs a monthly plan, and you can cancel online.
