Can I turn my photo into a manhwa?

Yes. Add a photo of yourself and a name, choose the manhwa style, pick a ready story or write your own, and Comicpix draws a 12-page manhwa comic with you as the main character. The cover is drawn first and the preview is free; it takes about a minute. A monthly plan unlocks all 12 pages.

What you get is a comic you read page by page, online or as a PDF: not a one-image manhwa filter, and not a vertical-scroll webtoon. The full how-to, with photo tips, is on the photo to comic page.

How the manhwa flow goes

The button on this page opens the flow with Manhwa already selected. In the Cast step you add one photo of yourself, or two photos for a two-person cast; a ready-made character works too. In the Story step you pick a ready story or write a few sentences of your own.

From two photos to a manhwa cover

“Let It Rain” started from the photos of two ready-made sample characters, not customers; the cover was drawn from them in the manhwa style.

These are our ready-made characters — AI-generated people, not customers. Your comic is drawn from your own photo.

“Moonlit Ascension”: a manhwa romance fantasy, cover to page 4

From the Comicpix app’s story catalog, drawn in the manhwa style: Lia pushes a power formation too far under the full moon, and Saint, from a rival clan, saves her with a forbidden art that binds them by an ancient oath. Your comic starts from your photo instead.

What the manhwa style looks like in Comicpix

The manhwa style is full-color Korean-comic art: clean line art, soft gradients, glossy lighting and elegant proportions. Next to the manga style’s black-and-white screentone, manhwa keeps color and soft gradients; next to the anime style’s cel shading, it leans on gradients and glossy light. Both neighbours have their own pages: make a manga of yourself and anime comic of yourself.

Every style is an illustration, so the cover shows a drawn version of you. Because the preview is free, you judge the likeness in manhwa before you pay.

Turn us into a manhwa: a story for two

All three manhwa examples on this site are romances with a two-person cast, and the custom flow has a second slot for a partner’s photo.

“Let It Rain” runs in six beats: a rainy bus stop at night and one umbrella; a walk through the neon-lit city with hands almost touching; a warm coffee shop, soaked and laughing; a misunderstanding that sends one of them back out into the rain; the other waiting at the same bus stop with the umbrella; forehead to forehead, “Let it rain tomorrow too.”

Story starters from that template: how you met, told like a drama; a first date where everything goes hilariously wrong; a secret anniversary surprise across the whole city; rivals at the same office who slowly fall for each other; two café owners on the same street forced to share one generator in a typhoon.

If the comic is a gift, the personalized comic book for couples page covers anniversary and how-we-met stories and compares styles for a couple.

Questions about manhwa comics

Is this a vertical webtoon?

No. On the web, a Comicpix manhwa is 12 portrait pages that you read one page at a time, online or as a PDF; there is no vertical-scroll webtoon format. Webtoons are built as one long strip for scrolling on a phone; Comicpix gives you the full-color manhwa look in a page-based comic you can also download.

Is it in color?

Yes. The manhwa style is full color, with soft gradients and glossy lighting. If you want black and white, pick the manga style instead: make a manga of yourself.

Can we be a couple in our manhwa?

Yes. The custom flow has a hero slot and an optional second slot, so two photos make a two-person cast. “Let It Rain” on this page was made from two sample photos, one per character.

Can I write my own story?

Yes. In the Story step you pick a ready story or write your own in a few sentences; no drawing or script-writing is needed. Ideas from the “Let It Rain” template: how we met, a first date, an anniversary surprise, rivals to lovers.

Is it free?

The cover preview is free; the full 12-page comic needs a monthly plan, and you can cancel online. Plans start at $6.99 a month.

How long does it take?

Your cover preview takes about a minute. After you unlock the comic, the pages are drawn one by one and you can read them as they arrive.
